We stand for Free Palestine
We oppose harsh and inhumane policies against refugees
Social justice builds a peaceful and humane society
- The Icelandic government is obligated to do everything in its power to prevent genocide, crimes against humanity, and war crimes. Wars end not with battles, but with peace agreements.
- Iceland’s foreign policy should prioritise international justice, disarmament, and peaceful conflict resolution while condemning all acts of aggression and violence in relations between nations.
- We should welcome refugees and applicants for international protection. The efficiency of the system should never come at the expense of humanitarian and justice principles; applications should be processed quickly and professionally.
- The UN Convention on the Rights of the Child must always guide decisions involving children fleeing conflict.
- We demand an immediate ceasefire in Palestine, peace negotiations, and a halt to arms shipments to Israel.
- We advocate for international economic sanctions on Israel due to the actions of its military in Palestine.
- Iceland should support South Africa’s case at the International Court of Justice against Israel for alleged genocide in Gaza, and actively work to hold the Israeli government accountable for war crimes, human rights abuses, and land seizures.
- It is of great importance to counter violence and weaponization within society, however general arming of the police does not foster public trust or safety.
- Police job security should be ensured through better financial allocation, increased recruitment, and humane working conditions rather than through arms. The vast majority of offenders commit crimes due to social, financial, or mental health struggles, and efforts should focus on addressing these underlying issues.
We stand for peaceful solutions, human rights, and democracy.
